12.5 Week Belly Pic

I know I am late posting a weekly picture of my ever-growing self, but I actually look cute today since we are going out to dinner with some friends tonight, so I will try to take a pic and post tomorrow. Luke still says I am "sticking it out," but since the only pair of pants I can wear without a BellaBand are my cotton gouchos, I can assure you that I am growing a baby- not sticking it out.

Twevle Weeks and Counting

How far along? 12 weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: +9 but I hear thin people gain more weight so I'm okay with being above the average
Maternity clothes? I bought a BellaBand yesterday and it is sweet relief
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Yes, thanks to the Darvocet doc gave me for the back pain, but I am having trouble getting up in the am so we'll see how long I can keep that up.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby again at the ultrasound last Friday due to back pain
Movement: Not that I can feel, but the baby was moving Friday when I had an ultrasound
Food cravings: Nothing new, but I have not really been that hungry lately, wierd I know.
Gender: Since the hb was 162 bpm last Friday, I am thinking girl
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Still in for a while
What I miss: Sleeping late- I seem to wake up on Saturdays and can't sleep late anymore
What I am looking forward to: Easter this weekend with my dad's family!
Weekly Wisdom: Even if everyone else says your symptoms are normal (my bad back pain) it doesn't make you feel better until the doctor tells you everything is okay with the baby. Listen to your body, not other people.
Milestones: Making it to the SECOND TRIMESTER!

We made it to the Second Trimester!

According to thebump.com, baby is the size of a plum.

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

Bad Back Pain = Doctor Visit = Ultrasound!

So since Wednesday night, I've had some pretty bad lower back pain. It started as real sharp pain that didn't last long, just a sec, and then progressed to constant pain all across my lower back. I called the doctor and he wanted me to come in. So I started freaking out like something was wrong with the baby. He said that while lower back pain is not that common for pregnant women, he thinks mine is stress induced.

Just to make sure, he did and ultrasound to make sure Baby McGlothin was A-OK. And the baby is great. Healthy heartbeat at 162 bpm, but no guesses at gender yet.

In this last one, you can see the fingers! Crazy how much the baby has grown in three weeks.
