It's a GIRL!

Yes it's been almost a week since we found out, but Google Blogspot was down lsat Wednesday and Thursday and then we left for our trip to the Smokey mountains. We got home late Monday and needless to say, we were all exhausted!

But last Wednesday, we saw three little lines, and it's definately a girl. Yes, we both would have preferred a boy, but are thrilled about outnumbering Luke 3 to 1 with women. I had felt all along that it was a girl (and Luke says he thought so to but I'm not so sure) so I wasn't really shocked.

Bella is excited about her new little sister. And when I woke up to Bella kicking me in the middle of the night, she totally denied it and said "it wasn't me, it was the little girl in your belly kicking you." I can see where this is going...

I will try to scan in some ultrasound pics but since I am barely going into the office anymore, we may have to invest in a scanner at home. And I will upload some Snokey Mountian pics asap.

Love you all...

Happy Birthday to Me (and Luke)!

Yes, for those who didn't know, I had the wondferful pleasure of marrying a man with the SAME birthday as myself. While you may think this is a fun coincidence, it has fallen short of expectations in past years. May I repeat, past years.

This morning I awoke to a fresh homemade breakfast of scrambled egss with cheese, bacon, and fruit. And I was served IN BED. I haven't gotten breakfast in bed since I lived with my parents. We always have this debate about who should get breakfast in bed on our birthday, but since I did throw him a pretty good surprise party last weekend, he decided to wake up early and shower me with love and food (the way to my heart).

After a quick exchange of cards (we opened our gifts last weekend with my parents) he was off to work and I went back to sleep. We are going out to dinner tonight and then to see Angels & Demons at the movies.

So Happy Birthday to me & Luke!

Surprise for Dad and Luke!!

So Saturday night, my mom and I pulled off the biggest surprise in surprise party history (ok, maybe not really, but it was big- even for us). Dad thought he was coming to Birmingham to help us with Luke's surprise 30th birthday party and Luke thought Dad was coming up for his surprise 60th birthday party. But really, the surprise was on both of them, as Dad's family came over from Atlanta and Luke's friends all came together for one big PAR-TAY!

It was really fun, and I think they were both really surprised (Ok, enough of the word "surprise"). Even though Luke was instructed to get Dad out of hte house Saturday evening by taking him to see the new Star Trek movie and ended up running into his friends (who live in Tuscaloosa and Newnan) at the Hoover Rave Theater. He was mad they came two miles from our house and didn't call him, so the thought that they would be here for HIS party never crossed his mind.

And here is Dad and Luke... The older you get the bigger bottle you get!

Baby McGlothin at 16 Weeks

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

Baby M is now the size of an avacado! I can't beleive the baby can hear us now... Does this mean I need to sing and talk to it, because I'm just not quite sure about that yet?

Sixteen Weeks and Counting

How far along? 16 weeks 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: Same as last week, -2/+9 total
Maternity clothes? Yep, even shirts and I bought a maternity bathing suit
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Can't get enough, but Luke is getting me a pregnancy pillow for my birthday so hopefully that will help me get better sleep and stay asleep longer
Best moment this week: Having Bella and Mom & Dad coming in town
Movement: No, but hopefully soon
Food cravings: Hummus, don't know where it came from but I had to go out and buy some the other night
Gender: Still leaning girl so I'm prepared (yes, we only want a healthy baby, but we really want a boy)
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, but shallowing
What I miss: Beer with my pizza (I know, very Alabama redneck of me)
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the sex, feeling the baby
Weekly Wisdom: Don't stress- it doesn't help anyone
Milestones: I guess getting the pregnancy pillow since I can hardly sleep on my stomach anymore (which is sad) and getting to see Grammie this weekend since I haven't seen her since I was six weeks pregnant

Fifteen Week Belly Pic

I know it's a week late, but better than never! And that thing poking out by my thumb is not my belly button, it's the clasp to my shorts that I can no longer close :)
